Probate Court Congratulates

Dec 15, 2017

Probate Court congratulates the Volunteer Guardian Program and Director of Volunteers Jennifer Mesko-Kimmich (J.J.) for their recognition by the Directors of Volunteers in Agencies (DOVIA) of Greater Akron on December 11, 2017.

The Volunteer Guardian Program formed in 2014, is a joint project of Summit County Probate Court, Summit County Public Health, the ADM Board, and Summit DD Board. This program was formed under the leadership of Judge Elinore Marsh Stormer to address the need for guardians of individuals who have no one to help them when they are unable to make decisions for themselves.  The volunteers are appointed by Probate Court who remains the “superior guardian” of the individual.

Ms. Mesko-Kimmich has been with the Volunteer Guardian Program since its inception in 2014.  She has been able to find excellent volunteers and problem-solve issues to help create one of the top Volunteer Guardian Programs in Ohio.
