A Short Form Release from Administration may be filed if:
- The estate is not worth more than $4,500.00 (and)
- There is no unpaid funeral bill.
If the funeral bill is paid, and the estate value is less than $4,500, bring to Court:
- The original Last Will and Testament (if one exists).
- The paid funeral bill.
- Title(s) of automobile(s), bank account numbers, insurance policy numbers, etc. owned by the deceased.
- The book value of any motor vehicle, ATV’s, motorcycles, personal watercraft, snowmobiles, trailers, utility vehicles, power boats, sailboats, motor homes, camping trailers, truck campers, etc. as found in a current, nationally recognized used vehicle guide. The current book value of each item must be written down.
- A Copy of the Death Certificate.

- The filing fee is $36.10 (without a Will).
- The filing fee is $60.00 (with a Will).
- If you use a credit card, a 3% charge will be added to the fee.
