The Help Desk Program is available for all Summit County Residents. The program is staffed by three licensed attorneys and open every Wednesday and Friday.
Court proceedings involving the death of a loved one, guardianship issues, and other probate law matters are often emotional and sometimes confusing. In these difficult times, it is recommended that you consult an attorney to represent individual and family interests. If you choose to represent yourself, the Help Desk Program is available for assistance.
The Help Desk can assist with the name changes, simple estate transfers, review of probate forms, guardianship issues, questions on probate procedures, and provides notary services. Help Desk attorneys cannot assist with the making of a will, complicated estates, adoption proceedings, or contested matters. If a specific situation is not within the scope of the Help Desk, individuals will be referred to the Akron Bar Association for a list of probate attorneys who specialize in probate law.
Help Desk hours are every Wednesday and Friday, 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with the last daily appointment scheduled at 3:30 p.m. Scheduled appointments are preferred yet walk-ins are welcome.
