SUMMIT COUNTY COURT OF COMMON PLEAS - PROBATE DIVISION
JUDGE ELINORE MARSH STORMER

Genealogy and Records

The Summit County Probate Court provides assistance to area genealogists and citizens conducting research during all normal business hours of the Court. Although the Court is not able to conduct extensive research, we are very happy to help provide guidance and information in locating records and specific information that may be useful to family researchers. We hold estate, guardianship and marriage records from 1840. We only hold birth and death records from 1869 through 1908. Photo copies of birth/death records cannot be made. There is a fee for certified typed records of birth and death records.

Marriage records from 1840 to 1980 can be indexed by sending an email to our Records Room at recordsinfo@summitohioprobate.com. Please include the last names of both parties and the year of their marriage. You may also contact us by phone at 330-643-2352.

All records after 1980 are on the Probate Court website under Case Records Search.
