General Index Search

You have reached the Summit County Probate Court case management system. You may now search our index and docket information online. These search pages are provided as a service by Judge Elinore Marsh Stormer to assist the public in accessing records.

Available through these search pages is information pertaining to open and public cases maintained in our Probate Court and information pertaining to public cases that were open on December 29, 1999 and have subsequently closed. All confidential matters such as Adoptions, Mental Illness and Mental Retardation Records are not available to the public.

You will be able to select a variety of criteria when searching. Your search will be easier and/or quicker depending on the amount of search criteria you can supply. You may search by last name only or you can include first initial or first name. You may select a case type or party type if that information is known. Status type must be chosen when searching by a beginning and ending date. It is suggested that a date search include no larger time span than one week because the search results may be too large for viewing.

When searching by case number, you must make sure that you are using the correct case number format. Any case number issued prior to December 29, 1999 will need to be changed using the current format. The year comes first, then the case code, followed by five digits combining what was listed as the month and the three digit number following the month. NO hyphens or months are used. (E99-01-001 becomes 1999 ES 01001)

Please note that if you are using the current case format and still show no results, you may want to use another search criteria such as "name". Keep in mind that if the case you are trying to review was closed prior to December 29, 1999, it will NOT show in this public access area.

After clicking General Index Search , the initial search page may take some time to load depending on the speed of your computer and Internet connection.

This information may not reflect updates, changes, or rulings that have not yet been posted to the system. The Summit County Probate Court reserves the right to make changes and assumes no liability for damages as a result of errors, omissions, or discrepancies.
